IIBS Alumni Meet-2016 held in Dubai

Dubai was the choice for this year’s IIBS Alumni Meet-2016 in Dubai. Unlike previous years’ meet, it was special in the sense that it was held overseas, that too in one of the emerging global business hubs, Dubai. Naturally, there had been greater expectation from the meet. And, it truly lived up to its expectation, with an enthusiastic participation from 100 IIBS alumni that had found their professional calling in Dubai’s corporate world.
The meet was held on 5th November, 2016 in one of the most idyllic setting for an alumni reunion of this kind. Clad in new-age business attires, IIBS Alumni brought a sense of formality to the event.  Eventually, the meet took off with a glittering opening. Right at the beginning of the event, there was a display of video capturing IIBS’ glorious rise to the top of MBA education. After the initial formalities of welcome note, special address, the participants got down to the main business of alumni meet. The occasion proved to be a nostalgic one, where friendship & relationship that began on campus were renewed and reinforced. It was quite an enriching experience for one and all. Amidst all the fun & frolic, the recent graduates had an opportunity to interact and benefit from their seniors’ wealth of professional knowledge. They were also hopeful of pooling in their competence for greater good of corporate world.
The occasion also saw inauguration of Dubai, Noida, and Kolkata chapters for IIBS Alumni. These separate chapters have been instituted to facilitate region-specific enrollment and better co-ordination amongst IIBS alumni residing all across nation. While region-specific chapters can organize their own alumni reunion, there would also be inter-chapter interaction & reunions on a regular basis.
The event was attended by IIBS elite personalities besides invitees from the corporate world. There was also recognition to outstanding achievers from IIBS who have made it big in business world. Besides the serious business, participants also got an opportunity to explore lighter side of life with fun & laughter. Overall, it is going to be memorable day in the life of IIBS Alumni.
Here are the minutes from the IIBS Alumni Reunion-2016:
  • It was reaffirmed that IIBS alumni would strive towards communication on regular basis towards greater accomplishments.
  • There would be encouragement to alumni to take initiative in organizing their respective chapter’s meet.
  • Emphasis on role of senior alumni in helping their juniors in their professional search.
  • Need for better co-ordination amongst IIBS Alumni Chapters for greater good of alumni in particular and the business at large.
